I’m nearly done!
Current mood: surprised
The month of February is nearly at a close and my RPM album looks to also be nearly at a close. To keep to my schedule I need to have all the tracks finished in raw form by Tuesday night, and with 10 of the 11 planned tracks already there, it should be no problem, except for the fact that I listened to the ideas jotted down for the 11th track and frankly, I don’t like it. Now I get to decide if I want to try and coax something out of it, start a new version from scratch, or just scrap the 11th track and get to the mastering process.
Right now, with the prerequisite number of both tracks and minutes, I may opt for the latter as after listening to early premasters of six of the tracks, I need to do some serious work with the low frequencies. That tends to be a habit of mine where I load up the low end and it turns into sonic mudd. Time to get to know my local friendly EQ analyzer, yet again.
So at this point, the track listing is as follows:
Multispectral Photographic Facility S-190 (MPF S-190)
The track that may be dropped is called Solid State and would have come after Video Switch. I’m still undecided on that. It’ll all depend on how inspired I am after work tomorrow to write music versus tweak music. The main thing is that losing one planned track will not diminish this album. I think it would be more troublesome to include one track that I just don’t like than to end up one track short of what was originally planned.
Now to see just how much sleep I can get the rest of the week.
